Sancha Cargill
Women's Basketball, 1997-99

Sancha Cargill is part of an outstanding list of female student-athletes who have found their way to Tallahassee Community College from the Caribbean island of Jamaica. A native of Kingston, Cargill played basketball for the Lady Eagles from 1997-99.

Following an impressive freshman campaign during which she averaged 8.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals, Cargill posted near identical numbers as a sophomore. In 1998-99, she averaged 8.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game to earn first-team All-Panhandle Conference honors. En route to a record of 26-8, she and her Lady Eagle teammates qualified for the Florida Community College Activities Association Tournament as Panhandle Conference Runners-Up. After helping her team advance to the championship game, Cargill was named to the FCCAA All-Tournament Team.

Upon graduating from TCC, she received a scholarship to East Carolina University and was a two-year starter for the Lady Pirates. As a senior in 2000-01, East Carolina claimed a runners-up finish in the Colonial Athletic Association. While at ECU, Cargill was equally active off the court. She served on the Student Athlete Advisory Council as the women's basketball liaison to the Office of Student Development. In December 2001, she earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Health and Human Performance with a concentration in therapeutic recreation.

Cargill began her professional career in the banking and real estate industry and is currently employed with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, one of the largest mortgage companies in the United States. She has also volunteered as an assistant coach for the Georgia Peaches Girls Basketball 12-and-under team and the Hosea Williams Feed the Hungry and Homeless Foundation.

Dimitric Salters
Men's Basketball, 1994-95

Growing up in nearby Havana, Florida, the game of basketball was an important part of Dimitric Salters' life. Following a standout career at the former Havana Northside High School, he played at Florida A&M University as a freshman, and then spent his sophomore campaign at Tallahassee Community College, where he played for the Eagles during the 1994-95 season.

During his only season at TCC, Salters averaged 8.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game for an Eagles squad which finished 24-8 and advanced to the Florida Community College Activities Association Tournament as Panhandle Conference Runners-Up. At the FCCAA Tournament, he helped TCC to its first ever postseason victory - a 93-90 win over Indian River Community College.

After attending TCC, Salters traveled across the state line to Thomasville, Georgia, where he played two seasons at what is now Thomas University. As a senior in 1996-97, he earned NAIA All-American honors and was runner-up for Southeast Regional Most Valuable Player. He earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the former Thomas College in 1997. Later that year, he was elected to the Thomas County Hall of Fame.

In 1997, Salters embarked on what would become a five-year professional basketball career. Between 1997 and 2002, he played for eight different teams in South America (Venezuela), Europe (Norway, Portugal, Poland) and New Zealand.

Salters' basketball career came full circle in 2005 when he was named head coach at East Gadsden High School. He has also founded the Coach Salters Individual Skills Camp and is co-founder of the Next Level Pro Basketball Showcase.
