Signing Day 2.0: Four more Eagles announce their college choice

Nicoll Interview | Watts Interview | Gillo & Pryor Interview

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 12, 2016) – Four Tallahassee Community College student-athletes were recognized on Tuesday during the Eagles' second Spring Signing Day Ceremony.

Baseball's Thomas Nicoll, women's basketball's Eboni Watts and softball's Julianne Gillo and Jaylene Pryor announced where they will spend the next two years of their academic and athletic careers.

Nicoll, a native of Tallahassee and former prep standout at Leon High School, will stay in his hometown and join the Florida A&M University Rattlers.

Nicoll developed into one of the top relief pitchers in the Panhandle Conference in 2016, posting a 6-0 record and 3.65 ERA in 19 appearances to earn second-team all-conference honors. In 37 innings, he allowed only 33 hits and 19 runs while striking out 37.

The six-foot, 180-pound right-hander leaves the Eagles with a career record of 7-2 and 4.28 ERA in 30 appearances.

Florida A&M, coached by former Florida State University assistant Jamey Shouppe, is the defending MEAC Champion.

Watts, a native of Macon, Ga., signed with the University of Kansas.

The 5-foot-6 guard appeared in 53 career games with the Eagles and averaged 11.0 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.5 steals.

Despite missing nine games as a sophomore due to injury, Watts still earned first-team all-Panhandle Conference honors by league coaches and was a second-team all-conference pick by the league media. In 2015-16, she averaged 14.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 2.0 steals.

Kansas, a member of the Big XII, is located in Lawrence, Kansas.

Both Gillo, a native of Stevenson Ranch, Calif., and Pryor, who hails from Tampa, Fla., signed with Norfolk State University.

Gillo, an outfielder, and Pryor, a shortstop, helped lead Tallahassee to back-to-back berths in the NJCAA District/FCSAA State Softball Tournament, including a fourth-place finish in the 16-team tournament in 2015.

Gillo appeared in 39 career games and picked up six hits and pair of RBIs in 2016 while Pryor made 91 appearances with the Eagles, finishing with career numbers of two home runs and 15 RBIs.

Norfolk State, a member of the MEAC, is located in Norfolk, Va.

Gillo and Pryor are the second and third student-athletes from Tallahassee to sign with Norfolk State this spring, joining men's basketball standout Stavian Allen.
