TCC student-athletes earn FCSAA, PC all-academic honors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (June 22, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College's academic all-stars have been recognized by both the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) and Panhandle Conference (PC). 

On Wednesday, a total of 37 student-athletes earned all-academic honors by the FCSAA and/or PC.

Twenty student-athletes were named to the FCSAA's All-Academic Team for having attained a minimum 3.30 GPA, either during the current academic year or over multiple years. 

Tallahassee's baseball and softball teams led the way with nine FCSAA All-Academic selections each. 

Seven student-athletes – baseball's Zach Featherstone, Rion Murrah, Craig Olson, Kyle Taddeo and Mac Wilson, and softball's Alexandra Cook and Kiara Johnson – made the FCSAA honor roll for the second straight season. 

The 20 FCSAA honorees were joined by 17 additional individuals to give the Eagles 37 representatives on the Panhandle Conference All-Academic Team. 

To earn all-conference recognition, student-athletes had to attain a minimum 3.0 GPA, either during the current academic year or over multiple years. 

The Eagles' baseball (18) and softball (12) teams again led the way followed by men's basketball (four), cheer (two) and women's basketball (one). 

Twelve student-athletes earned All-PC recognition for a second time. 

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) will be the next group to release its student-athlete academic awards.
