#TCCXC releases 2017 schedule

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 28, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College released its 2017 cross country schedule on Friday, exactly four weeks out from the Eagles’ season-opening race. 

Tallahassee’s debut of men’s cross country as well as the second season for the women will commence Friday, August 25 at the Cougar XC Challenge, the first of five regular season races on the 2017 slate. 

The event, hosted by Godby High School, will take place at Phipps Park. 

Up next is the first of three dates at Apalachee Regional Park (ARP), the September 2 Big Bend XC Invite. Two weeks later, on September 16, the Eagles will run in the Prefontaine Forest Run 5K at Silver Lake. On September 23, the teams will travel to the University of Florida for the annual Mountain Dew Invitational. 

The Eagles’ signature event, and final run on the regular season schedule, falls on October 6 when they will participate in the annual FSU Invitational at the ARP. 

The postseason begins Saturday, October 28 with the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA State Cross Country Championships at the ARP and continues with a pair of NJCAA championship events. 

The NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships will take place November 11 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. One week later, the season concludes with the NJCAA Half Marathon in Topeka, Kan.
