TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 11, 2019) – Near perfect weather conditions greeted runners during Friday morning's FSU Cross Country Invitational at Apalachee Regional Park, and Tallahassee Community College's men's and women's teams took advantage.

Led by Genevieve Printiss' school-record, ten of the 11 runners who crossed the finish line posted a personal record and the Eagles hung tough with its two-year rivals in the team scoring in their final tune-up before the FCSAA Championships on October 25. 

When Tallahassee last visited the ARP on September 13 for the TCC Eagle Invite, heat indices reached triple digits and runners labored around the ARP's 5K and 8K courses. On Friday, however, early morning temperatures in the low 60s delivered a fast course for the more than 400 runners representing a record number of teams in the event, which returned after Hurricane Michael forced a cancellation of the 2018 race. 

The Tallahassee women placed 20th out of 24 teams, but led a quartet of two-year schools, all from Region 8. 

Printiss and fellow sophomore Kendall Ward finished 1-2 among two-year runners, which was strong enough to send the Eagles past Florida State College at Jacksonville, Florida Gateway College and Chipola College in the team scoring. 

Printiss finished 99th overall with a time of 20:04.5, breaking Meagan Giddens' school-record of 20:06.7, also set at the ARP in 2017. Ward posted a 21:44.1. 

A trio of freshmen crossed the finish line in succession, all in PR fashion, to close out the team scoring. Andrice Sewell was first in 30:13.3 followed by Olivia Vigille, who ran a 30:15.4 in her collegiate debut, and Arionne McCall's 30:33.3. 

In the men's 8K, freshman Daniel Randolph continued to pace the Eagles, finishing with a PR of 29:02.6, fifth-best among runners from two-year schools and 145th overall. 

Sophomore Dalton Gray and freshman Rodolph Adonis were side by side throughout the race, including at the finish line where Gray finished in 30:35.8 and Adonis was four seconds back in 30:39.1. 

Freshmen Keshawn Nelson and Austin Erbaio, who finished 181st (32:14.8) and 188th (33:09.9), respectively, completed the scoring for Tallahassee, who finished 18th out of 20 scoring teams. 

Freshman Jaywaun Nubin was the final Eagle to cross the line, finishing in 34:46.5.
