TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 2, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College maintained a No. 2 ranking in this week’s FCSAA Softball Coaches’ Poll, released on Tuesday.

The Eagles (29-8) received four of the 21 available first-place votes and 192 total points in voting, second only to No. 1 Indian River State College (17/215).

The top three teams in the poll remained intact from last week – Indian River State, Tallahassee and No. 3 Polk State College.

No. 4 College of Central Florida and No. 5 Daytona State College swapped positions from a week ago while a third Mid-Florida Conference school, Santa Fe College, jumped three spots to No. 6.

Spots seven through ten in the rankings are occupied by Chipola College, Miami Dade College, Northwest Florida State College and State College of Florida.

Meanwhile, in the FCSAA Baseball Coaches’ Poll, Tallahassee slipped from No. 2 to No. 5 despite claiming a series victory over previous No. 4 Northwest Florida State.

Tallahassee still received one first-place vote and 104 points in the voting, but trails No. 1 Chipola, No. 2 Gulf Coast State College, No. 3 St. Johns River State College and No. 4 Polk State.

St. Petersburg College leads the second half of the rankings and is followed by Central Florida, Northwest Florida State, Eastern Florida State College and Miami Dade, the lone newcomer to either poll this week.
