Eagle women move to No. 4 in FCSAA poll, men drop to third

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 16, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College's women's basketball team moved up one spot to No. 4 in the latest FCSAA Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll, released Tuesday.

Tallahassee (11-3) and No. 3 Gulf Coast State College both moved up a notch following then-No. 3 Florida State College at Jacksonville's December 9 loss to Eastern Florida State College.

The Eagles received 109 points in the voting, eight less than Gulf Coast State and seven more than Florida State College, who dropped to fifth.

Chipola College and Northwest Florida State College continue to sit at 1-2 in the rankings.

The College of Central Florida leads the second half of the poll and is followed by Eastern Florida State, Daytona State College, Santa Fe College and Hillsborough Community College, the lone newcomer to this week's rankings.

On the men's side, Tallahassee (12-2) dropped one spot to No. 3 after a 76-66 loss to previous No. 3 Eastern Florida State on Sunday at the Florida College's Men's Basketball Shootout.

Tallahassee and Eastern Florida State swapped spots in the poll, which is still led by Northwest Florida State.

Broward College jumped two spots to No. 4 and is followed by St. Petersburg College, Pensacola State College, Gulf Coast State, Palm Beach State College, Daytona State and Polk State College.

The next FCSAA coaches' polls will be released January 6.
