Little movement for Eagle men, women in FCSAA polls

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 28, 2013) – Tallahassee Community College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams saw little movement in the latest FCSAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Polls, released on Tuesday.

The Eagle women, who were 5-2 entering the week, held on to the No. 6 ranking for a second straight week.

Chipola College and Gulf Coast State College continued to hold down the top two spots in the rankings, but there was a shakeup from 3-5, thanks to Florida State College at Jacksonville’s upset win at Northwest Florida State College last Saturday. The Blue Wave earned a three-point win on the Raiders’ home floor and moved into the No. 3 spot, previously held by Northwest Florida State.

Palm Beach State College, who has a win over Florida State College at Jacksonville, shares the No. 3 ranking with the Blue Wave. Northwest Florida State slipped to No. 5.

After Tallahassee, the final four teams in the poll are St. Petersburg College, Pensacola State College, Hillsborough Community College and Santa Fe College.

In the men’s poll, Tallahassee slipped one spot to No. 5. The Eagles didn’t play last week, but were charged with a loss after announcing they would forfeit three games.

Chipola and Northwest Florida State remained 1-2. Unbeaten Santa Fe College moved up two spots to No. 3 while College of Central Florida dropped one spot to No. 4.

Teams 6-10 in the rankings are Miami Dade College, Pensacola State College, Eastern Florida State College, Broward College and Gulf Coast State College.
