No movement for Eagle women in FCSAA Coaches’ Polls

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 11, 2015) – The FCSAA released its weekly coaches’ polls on Tuesday and Tallahassee Community College found itself ranked in the top ten of the women’s basketball and softball polls. 

As the basketball season hits the home stretch, Tallahassee remained No. 4 in the rankings, behind Panhandle Conference leaders Chipola College and Northwest Florida State College and Mid-Florida Conference leader College of Central Florida. 

The Eagles, 19-8 on the season, received 104 points in the voting, comfortably ahead of No. 5 Daytona State College. 

Eastern Florida State College leads the second half of the poll and is followed by Gulf Coast State College, Florida State College at Jacksonville, St. Petersburg College and Miami Dade College. 

Tallahassee’s 5-0 softball team also held its spot at No. 3 in the first regular season coaches’ poll. 

Central Florida (9-0) and Indian River State College (11-0) lead the rankings. The Eagles are followed by Chipola, Seminole State College, Polk State College, Miami Dade, St. Petersburg, Eastern Florida State and State College of Florida. 

Tallahassee was not ranked in the men’s basketball coaches’ poll and the Eagles dropped out of the baseball coaches’ poll after being ranked No. 9 in the preseason.
