Eagles now No. 2 in FCSAA Softball Coaches’ Poll

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 25, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College made another move towards the top of the FCSAA Softball Coaches’ Poll, climbing to No. 2 in the latest top ten, released on Tuesday. 

Indian River State College is a solid No. 1 but the Eagles did receive two first-place votes and 162 total points in the voting to comfortably outdistance No. 3 Polk State College.

Tallahassee and Polk State both moved up one spot following multiple losses by previous No. 2 College of Central Florida last week. 

Daytona State College jumped three spots to No. 4 and Central Florida landed at No. 5. 

Panhandle Conference rivals Chipola College and Northwest Florida State College both slipped one spot to No. 6 and No. 7, respectively. 

Miami Dade College and State College of Florida held at No. 8 and No. 10, respectively, while Santa Fe College landed between the two as the new No. 9 team. 

In the FCSAA Baseball Coaches’ Poll, Tallahassee’s second stay atop the rankings this season ended after two weeks. 

The Eagles dropped to No. 2 and swapped places with Chipola, who took over the No. 1 spot in the poll. 

St. Johns River State College jumped four spots to No. 3 while No. 4 Northwest Florida State College made an even bigger leap, up five spots from No. 9. 

Polk State stayed at No. 5. 

Eastern Florida State College leads the second five and is followed by State College of Florida, Central Florida, Gulf Coast State College and St. Petersburg College.
