Eagles beat Darton State, fall to Gulf Coast State on day two of First Pitch Classic

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (January 26, 2013) - Freshman Chad Mabini homered twice and drove in five runs to lead FCSAA No. 10 Tallahassee Community College to a 6-5 win over Darton (Ga.) State College on Saturday's second day of play at the First Pitch Classic, an event hosted by Gulf Coast State College.

Tallahassee dropped its final game of the event to host Gulf Coast State, 10-0, in a game that does not count in the Panhandle Conference standings.

In the win over Darton State, Mabini hit a solo shot and later added a grand slam for the first two homers of his collegiate career.

Temple (Texas) College transfer Taylor Wright picked up the win in his Tallahassee debut.

Tallahassee (3-1) returns to play on Tuesday when it travels to Douglas, Ga., to play South Georgia College. First pitch is at 4 p.m.
