TCC announces changes to baseball schedule

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 20, 2013) - Tallahassee Community College has announced the following changes to its upcoming baseball schedule.

On Thursday, the Eagles (11-3) will travel to Florida State College at Jacksonville (4-7) for a 4 p.m. game with the Blue Wave. The game, originally scheduled for February 5, was rained out – the first of three straight Tuesday dates for the Eagles to be postponed due to wet weather.

On Friday, FCSAA No. 5 Tallahassee will return home to play No. 4 Santa Fe College (10-5) in a doubleheader beginning at 3:30 p.m.

The teams were scheduled for a two-game set, with games on Friday and Saturday, however, because a rainy forecast is on the horizon for the weekend, the Eagles and Saints agreed to play a pair of seven-inning games on Friday.

Tallahassee will take Saturday, Sunday and Monday off then return to action on Tuesday when it hosts Shelton State (Ala.) Community College.

In basketball news, the Tallahassee men picked up a win on Thursday when it was notified that State College of Florida was forfeiting its 104-94 victory over the Eagles on December 8 at the Florida College's Men's Basketball Shootout in Ocala.

By virtue of the forfeit, the Eagles' record now stands at 14-13.

Tallahassee can clinch a winning season – and also nab the program's 500th NJCAA victory – on Saturday in its season finale at Pensacola State College.
