Eagles climb to No. 1 in FCSAA Baseball Coaches' Poll

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 21, 2013) - Tallahassee Community College, on Tuesday, climbed into the No. 1 spot in the Florida College System Activities Association's (FCSAA) Baseball Coaches' Poll.

The Eagles, who moved into the top spot after being ranked No. 2 last week, traded spots in the poll with previous No. 1 Miami Dade College.

Tallahassee's 12 (out of 22) first-place votes and 206 total points was enough to supplant Miami Dade, who garnered the remaining ten first-place votes (195 total points).

Tallahassee is one of three Panhandle Conference teams in the poll – all three are ranked in the top seven. Gulf Coast State College is ranked No. 4 while Chipola College is No. 7.

The Eagles are also currently ranked No. 9 in Perfect Game's JUCO Top 25 and No. 10 in the NJCAA Division 1 Baseball Poll - both will release an updated poll next week.

Tallahassee won its first game as the state's top-ranked team on Wednesday, defating Chipola, 11-2.

The Eagles return to action on Friday when it hosts Chipola in the rubber game of the teams' three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Eagle Field.
