TCC soars to No. 3 in NJCAA Baseball Poll

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 27, 2013) – A No. 1 FCSAA ranking, a 33-5 overall record and seven wins in its first eight Panhandle Conference games continues to pay dividends for Tallahassee Community College's baseball team.

One day after receiving a No. 5 ranking in Perfect Game's JUCO Top 25, Tallahassee found itself ranked even higher, at No. 3, in the NJCAA Division I Baseball Poll.

Tallahassee was the big mover inside the top ten, jumping seven spots from the previous poll, released March 13.

The Eagles received three of the ten first-place votes and 176 total points in the voting, just one point behind No. 2 Crowder (Mo.) College and nine shy of No. 1 Lamar (Colo.) Community College.

Tallahassee swapped positions with fellow FCSAA member, No. 10 Miami Dade College, who was ranked No. 3 in the previous poll.

Teams four through nine in the rankings are: College of Southern Nevada, Iowa Western Community College, Cowley County (Kan.) Community College, Grayson (Texas) College, Delgado (La.) Community College and Walters State (Tenn.) Community College.

Central Arizona College leads the second ten in the poll and is followed by Darton (Ga.) State College, Spartanburg (S.C.) Methodist College, Faulkner State (Ala.) Community College, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, Navarro (Texas) College, Seminole (Okla.) State College, Chattanooga (Tenn.) State Community College, South Mountain (Ariz.) Community College and Midland (Texas) College.

The Eagles continue PC play on Wednesday with the series finale at Pensacola State College (6 p.m. eastern).
