TCC Eagles Podcast: Taylor Wright on his decision to sign with Houston Baptist

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 26, 2013) – Tallahassee Community College baseball standout Taylor Wright has signed a national letter of intent with Houston Baptist University.

Wright, a native of Richmond Hill, Ga., transferred to Tallahassee after spending his freshman season at Temple College in Temple, Texas, where he played for former Atlanta Braves pitcher Craig McMurtry.

After posting a 0-3 record and 4.26 ERA as a freshman at Temple, Wright flourished in the Eagles' rotation in 2013. He went 6-1 – the second-most wins on the Tallahassee staff – with a 2.44 ERA, second-best among the Eagles' starters.

Wright started and picked up the win in Tallahassee's Panhandle Conference Championship clinching win over Chipola College on April 13.

His efforts were rewarded with a spot on the All-Panhandle Conference second-team.

Located in Houston, Texas, Houston Baptist, as of July 1, became a member of the Southland Conference.
