TIFTON, Ga. (February 18, 2014) – Playing its first game as the No. 1 team in the FCSAA Baseball Coaches' Poll, Tallahassee Community College got the win and made some history in the process, defeating Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) Agricultural College, 9-4 on Tuesday afternoon.
The win was No. 800 for Tallahassee head coach in his NJCAA coaching career, all coming as skipper of the Eagles.
Tallahassee is now 12-1 and heads to Santa Fe College for a 3 p.m. showdown with the Saints on Wednesday.
Ben Levine was the winning pitcher for Tallahassee. He gave up three first-inning runs but settled down after that and pitched four shutout innings.
Offensively, the Eagles were led by Cody Borup and Ryne Willard, each of whom went 2-for-4.
Christian Dicks stole three bases for Tallahassee.
