#BirdGang flies into NJCAA poll at No. 16

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 26, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College's baseball team earned a No. 16 ranking in the NJCAA's first regular season Top 20 National Poll, released on Tuesday.

The Eagles (14-5) are one of six teams from Region 8 (Florida) in the poll. State College of Florida, who Tallahassee hosted for a three-game series last weekend, is the highest-ranked team from the Sunshine State at No. 4.

St. Petersburg College is No. 8 followed by a pair of Panhandle Conference rivals – No. 10 Chipola College and No. 11 Gulf Coast State College. Eastern Florida State College is just ahead of Tallahassee at No. 15.

The Eagles' next opponent, Chattahoochee Valley (Ala.) Community College, is ranked No. 5.

Tallahassee won its first 11 games before stumbling through a stretch of five losses in six games. The Eagles, however, have rebounded with wins over Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) Agricultural College and Florida State College at Jacksonville on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.
