Raiders down Tallahassee to even series, Game 3 moved to Thursday

NICEVILLE, Fla. (March 26, 2014) – Northwest Florida State College struck for six runs in its first at-bat en route to a 12-6 win over Tallahassee Community College on Wednesday evening, evening the teams' Panhandle Conference baseball series at one game apiece.

The rubber game, originally scheduled for Friday, has been moved up to Thursday due to the likelihood of inclement weather by week's end. First pitch will be at 5 p.m.

Friday's other scheduled PC contest between Gulf Coast State College and Pensacola State College has also been moved to Thursday.

In Monday's series opener at Eagle Field, Tallahassee pitchers allowed ten hits but limited the Raiders to just two runs. The Eagles were not as fortunate on Wednesday.

Northwest Florida State tallied seven hits during its six-run first and finished with 15 hits on the night.

Tallahassee briefly made a game of things, scoring five runs in the third to pull within 6-5, but the Raiders plated the game's next five runs to extend the lead to 11-5 by the seventh inning.

The loss drops Tallahassee (32-9) into fourth place in the league standings at 4-4 while Northwest Florida State maintains its position as the PC leader with a 4-1 record.
