TCC’s Quincy Nieporte named NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Baseball Player of the Week

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (April 15, 2014) – The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA), on Tuesday, named Tallahassee Community College first baseman/catcher Quincy Nieporte the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Baseball Player of the Week for games April 7-13. 

Nieporte, a freshman from Atlanta, Ga., batted .714 (10-for-14) with one home run and nine RBI in four games during the voting period. 

Nieporte's week began at Gulf Coast State College on April 8 and, despite flying out in his only official at-bat, he walked twice and drove in a run on a sac-fly. 

In two games against Pensacola State College, he went a combined 8-for-9, including a 5-for-5 game in the series finale. In the Eagles' 14-4 win on April 11, he drove in seven runs and finished a triple shy of hitting for the cycle. 

In his final game of the week against Chipola College on April 12, he was 2-for-4 with an RBI. 

By virtue of receiving the FCSAA honor, Nieporte is a nominee for NJCAA Baseball Player of the Week, which will be named on Wednesday.
