TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (June 23, 2014) – First, Logan Elliot and Collin Strall made Tallahassee Community College's 2014 baseball team as walk-ons. Then, both pitchers turned in spectacular freshman seasons for the Eagles.

Now, the right-handed pitching duo has signed national letters of intent with two tradition rich programs from the Southeastern Conference – Elliot with Mississippi State University; Strall with Louisiana State University.

"This is a great opportunity for both guys and I couldn't be happier for them," said Tallahassee head coach Mike McLeod. "It's a feather in our cap when programs such as LSU and Mississippi State recruit our players, and I can't wait to see them perform in the SEC."

Elliot, a native of Dunwoody, Ga., earned first-team All-Panhandle Conference honors after posting a 7-1 record and 2.19 ERA with five saves in 23 appearances. He opened the season in the Eagles' bullpen, splitting time between long relief and the role of closer, before settling into the starting rotation.

In fact, he didn't make his first start until the final week of the regular season. But it was his 109-pitch gem in a 9-2 win over Northwest Florida State College on April 22 that ignited the Eagles' run to the FCSAA State Tournament.

He ended the season with 65.2 innings of work, allowing only 58 hits and 20 walks while striking out 56.

Strall, another Peach State native who hails from Atlanta, was a second-team All-PC selection after going 7-2 with one save and a 2.54 ERA in 24 appearances. In 60.1 innings, he allowed only 53 hits and 17 walks while striking out 63 batters.

Strall's closing statement was, arguably, the exclamation point to his season. At the FCSAA Tournament, he picked up wins against PC Champion Chipola College and Mid-Florida Conference Champion St. Johns River State College – on the same day.

Against Chipola, he pitched 3.2 scoreless innings of one-hit ball (three strikeouts) and followed that with 3.2 scoreless innings (five hits, four strikeouts) against St. Johns River State.

The two pitchers share another similarity, one that caught the attention of numerous four-year schools – a sidearm delivery, a skill each honed under the tutelage of Tallahassee's veteran head coach.

Both players depart Tallahassee with three years of eligibility remaining.
