TCC’s Christian Dicks inks with Florida Atlantic

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 17, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College baseball standout Christian Dicks has signed a national letter of intent with Florida Atlantic University.

A native of Jacksonville, Fla., Dicks transferred to TCC after playing his freshman season with the Florida Gators in 2013.

Dicks displayed a combination of speed and power during his 56 games in the Eagles' outfield. He led the team in both home runs (8) and stolen bases (19) while batting .348 and driving in 54 runs. Those numbers helped him earn first-team All-Panhandle Conference and second-team FCSAA All-State honors.

"I'm so proud of Christian," said Tallahassee head coach Mike McLeod. "We saw, in him, a quality ball player, one with a lot of great tools. He came a long way over the course of the season, but how he ended the year was a true indicator of the player he is."

Dicks batted 10-for-17 with three home runs and nine RBI during the final four regular season games as Tallahassee chased down Northwest Florida State College to capture the Panhandle Conference Wild Card and an eventual berth in the FCSAA Tournament. He finished with a .400 average, five homers and 23 RBI in PC play.

"He is, potentially, a fantastic off the chart player," added McLeod. "He will be a tremendous player for FAU."

Florida Atlantic, an NCAA Division I program, competes in Conference USA.
