Eagles drop pair on day two of First Pitch Classic

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (January 31, 2015) - FCSAA No. 9 Tallahassee Community College continued play at the First Pitch Classic on Saturday, again taking the field for a doubleheader against Gordon (Ga.) State College and Darton (Ga.) State College.
After splitting games against its longtime Georgia rivals on Friday, the Eagles suffered a sweep on Saturday, falling to Gordon State, 9-8, in the opener then dropping an 8-1 decision to Darton State.
Tallahassee came out on the right end of a 9-8 score on Friday, snuffing out a Darton State rally in the bottom of the seventh. Today, the Eagles were not as fortunate.
Tallahassee took an 8-7 lead to the bottom of the seventh but the Highlanders plated two runs against Matt Schaeffer to pick up the walk-off victory.
Thomas Nicoll (0-1) took the loss in game two against Darton State.
The Eagles (1-3) will travel to Florida State College at Jacksonville for a 4 p.m. game Tuesday.
