Olive’s big day not enough as Tallahassee falls to Santa Fe

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (February 11, 2015) – Matt Olive went 2-for-2 at the plate but the Tallahassee Community College Eagles fell 14-4 to Santa Fe College on Wednesday afternoon.

The Saints' Tom Watson recorded the win, allowing two runs over seven innings. He struck out nine, walked none and surrendered only five hits. 

Micah Dunn was charged with the loss for the Eagles, lasting just two innings. 

The Eagles drew first blood, scoring a third-inning run when Mac Wilson singled home Geremy Walton, who had singled and stole second. But in the bottom half, Santa Fe scored four runs – a two-run error and a two-run single by Jared Shouppe. 

The Saints scored all 14 of their runs between the third and seventh innings, culminating with three in the seventh. 

Tallahassee scored its second run of the game in the top of the seventh on an RBI-double by Olive. The Eagles plated two more in the ninth. 

Tallahassee will return home to open a three-game set against Shelton (Ala.) State Community College on Friday. First pitch is 4 p.m.
