TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 1, 2015) – The Tallahassee Community College Eagles dropped the final game of an abbreviated series with Chattahoochee Valley (Ala.) Community College, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at Eagle Field.

The teams split two games over the weekend after rain wiped out Saturday's scheduled game two. Sunday was the Eagles' first loss in five games to Chattahoochee Valley, dating back to last season and was the first loss at Eagle Field in 2015,

Tallahassee had won its first eight home games and is now 10-7 overall.

Starting pitcher Chad Mabini struggled to find his groove early on, and the Eagles fell behind 2-0 after one half inning.

In the third inning, the Eagles came back to take the lead with three runs of their own.  Tyler Kinard scored on a double from D.J. McKnight that went into deep left field and down the line. Later in the inning, McKnight scored off a Zach Featherstone single to centerfield.  Robert Henderson's single into shallow left brought the inning's final run home as Tyler Atwell scored from second.

Chattahoochee Valley tied the game in the sixth and regained the lead with a run in the eighth.

Both Featherstone and Henderson went 2-for-4 with an RBI to pace the Eagles offensively.

Mabini ended up going five innings and was charged with three runs. He struck out one.

Craig Olson, who was charged with the loss, entered the game in relief and went 2.1 innings. He is now 2-1 on the season.

The Eagles will be back in action Monday, March 2 when they open a quick four-game series against Grand Rapids (Mich.) Community College.  The teams will play doubleheaders on Monday and Tuesday, beginning at 3:30 p.m. both days.
