Tallahassee got a run back in the bottom half of the inning when Kyle Taddeo scored on an Ethan Crout ground out.

Pensacola State went right back to work, scoring four more runs in the third to increase its lead to 8-3.

Tallahassee tried to get back in the game and slowly chipped away at the deficit. The Eagles scored single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to pull within 8-5, but the Pirates put the game away with a pair of runs in the ninth.
