Henderson, Olive the latest from TCC Baseball to sign with four-year programs

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (August 7, 2015) – A busy week of signing announcements continued for Tallahassee Community College's baseball team on Friday as two more members of the 2015 Eagles announced their intentions for the next two seasons.

Sophomore catchers Robert Henderson and Matt Olive have signed national letters of intent with Florida Atlantic University and Eastern Kentucky University, respectively.

Henderson, who is from West Palm Beach, Fla., transferred to Tallahassee from Northwood University and played two seasons with the Eagles. In 66 career games, he batted .241 with two home runs and 30 RBIs.

Henderson earned second-team All-Panhandle Conference honors as a freshman in 2014 despite playing in only nine conference outings and 29 games overall. He swung a hot back down the stretch as the Eagles chased down Northwest Florida State College for the Panhandle Conference's Wild Card berth – in his nine PC games, Henderson batted .522 and posted a .783 slugging percentage with one homer and eight RBIs.

He drove in 15 runs in 37 games as a sophomore.

At Florida Atlantic, Henderson will reunite with former Tallahassee teammate Christian Dicks. Both players were members of the Eagles' 2014 squad.

FAU, an NCAA Division I school, is located in Boca Raton, Fla., and a member of Conference USA.

Olive is from Neptune Beach, Fla., and also spent the past two seasons in the royal blue and gold. He appeared in 73 career games and batted .257 with 30 runs scored, two home runs and 29 RBIs.

After batting .250 in 39 games as a freshman, Olive increased his average by 17 points as a sophomore and earned second-team All-Panhandle Conference honors.

Olive earned Panhandle Conference All-Academic honors in 2014 and, like Henderson, graduated from TCC in June.

Eastern Kentucky, located in Richmond, Ky., is an NCAA Division I school and participates as a member of the Ohio Valley Conference.
