Cavanaugh, Featherstone, Silva lead seven all-PC selections for #TCCBaseball

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (May 2, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College placed a total of seven players on the Coaches’ All-Panhandle Baseball Teams, including a trio of first-team selections. 

First baseman Kyle Cavanaugh, outfielder Zach Featherstone and shortstop Deyvid Silva were the Eagles’ first-team all-PC representatives while outfielder Ethan Crout, catcher Bret Maxwell, pitcher Thomas Nicoll and third baseman Mac Wilson earned a spot on the all-PC second-team. 

Cavanaugh, a sophomore from Orlando, Fla., played in 51 games and led the Eagles with a .399 batting average, 77 hits, 20 doubles and 58 RBIs. He also added four home runs. 

Featherstone, a sophomore from Charlotte, N.C., played in 52 games and posted team-highs of 10 home runs, .498 on-base percentage, and .632 slugging percentage. He also batted .345 with 17 doubles and 46 RBIs. 

Silva, a freshman from Miami, Fla., played in 52 games and led the team with 51 runs scored. His seven home runs were second-most on the team, and he also finished with a .333 batting average, 60 hits, 11 doubles and 35 RBIs. 

Crout, a sophomore from Neptune Beach, Fla., played in 50 games and batted .331 with one home run and 45 RBIs. 

Maxwell, a freshman from St. Petersburg, Fla., played in 44 games and batted .295 with 14 doubles, four home runs and 25 RBIs. 

Wilson, a sophomore from Jacksonville, Fla., played in 52 games and batted .341 with 10 doubles, 32 RBIs and a team-high five stolen bases. 

Nicoll, a sophomore from Tallahassee, Fla., appeared in 19 games – all but four in relief – and posted a perfect 6-0 record and 3.65 ERA. In 37 innings, he allowed only 33 hits and 19 runs while striking out 37. 

The five league coaches also ranked the top ten players from the 16-member first-team and Cavanaugh and Featherstone were voted No. 2 and No. 5, respectively.
