Former TCC Baseball standout Lorenzo Cain wins World Series as a member of the Kansas City Royals

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 2, 2015) – Former Tallahassee Community College baseball standout Lorenzo Cain won the 2015 World Series with the Kansas City Royals on Sunday evening.

Cain and his Royals teammates defeated the New York Mets, 7-2 in 12 innings, to win the series in five games.

Kansas City trailed 2-0 heading to the ninth but Cain drew a leadoff walk, stole second and later scored to cut the Mets’ lead in half. The Royals eventually tied the game to force extra innings, and Kansas City scored five times in the 12th.

With two runs already on the board in the 12th, Cain put the game and World Series away with a three-run double to give the Royals a five-run advantage.

Cain, who played at Tallahassee in 2005, is the first former Eagle to win a world championship in any of the major sports.
