Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (January 31, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College's baseball team defeated Abraham Baldwin (Ga.) Agricultural College on Tuesday, 8-5.
The win improved the Eagles to 4-0 on the young season. Tallahassee will look for its fifth straight win when it hosts South Georgia State College at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Tallahassee scored four runs in the bottom of the second to give starting pitcher Alex Stobert a nice cushion. Stobert allowed his only run of the game in the third then Tallahassee tacked on three more runs in the fourth for a 7-1 lead.
ABAC scored one in the seventh and three more in the eighth to pull within 7-5, but the Eagles got an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth when Jack Hartman's sac-fly scored Casey Cribb.
Stobert scattered five hits and one walk over five innings for his first collegiate victory.
Tanner Thomas was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Cribb went 2-for-4 and scored twice. Hartman drove in three runs.
