#TCCBaseball evens series with Chatt Valley

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 25, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College's baseball team snapped a five-game losing streak on Saturday with a 9-6 win over NJCAA No. 6 Chattahoochee Valley (Ala.) Community College. 

The win improved the Eagles to 8-10 while evening the series with the Pirates heading into Sunday's 1 p.m. rubber game. 

Tallahassee rallied from a 4-1 deficit, scoring eight runs between the third and sixth innings. 

Josh Nothdorft's one-out double got the Eagles rolling in the third. Following a walk to Jordan Curtis, a Chatt Valley error brought Nothdorft home with the inning's first run. 

Tucker Rayburn singled home Curtis to cut Chatt Valley's lead to 4-3. 

An inning later, Curtis' single scored Myron Mebane with the tying run and Cole Vann followed with a base hit that brought home Nothdorft and Curtis to give the Eagles a 6-4 lead. 

Chatt Valley tied the game in the top of the fifth, but the Eagles got the runs back in the bottom half on one swing – Aaron Haughton's two-run homer to left. 

Tallahassee added an insurance run in the sixth. 

Nothdorft led the Eagles' 13-hit attack, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Vann was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Haughton was 1-for-4 with the homer. 

Derick Garcia (1-0) pitched six innings in relief of starter Nick Blasucci to pick up the win.
