#TCCBaseball head coach Mike McLeod wins No. 900!

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (February 26, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College head baseball coach Mike McLeod won his 900th career game on Sunday, as the Eagles knocked off NJCAA No. 6/Perfect Game No. 3 Chattahoochee Valley (Ala.) Community College, 11-6, at Eagle Field.

Now in his 27th year leading the Eagles, McLeod's record stands at 900-454-4, a winning percentage of .663.

As it did in Saturday's 9-6 win over the Pirates, Tallahassee had to come-from-behind for the victory.

Starter Nick Marchese (1-1) gave up three runs through the first four innings, and Tallahassee trailed 3-2 when it came to bat in the bottom of the sixth.

The Eagles sent ten men to the plate and scored six runs, despite only two hits in the inning. Two Chattahoochee Valley errors aided the rally, including a two-out miscue that blew the game wide open.

With three runs already in, Tallahassee had taken a 5-3 lead when a walk to Tanner Thomas loaded the bases. The next batter, Josh Nothdorft, hit a slow roller down the third base line that was fielded by pitcher Coleman Barbee, whose throw to first ended up down the right field line, allowing Deyvid Silva, Aaron Haughton and Thomas to score.

Instead of the third out, Tallahassee's lead swelled to 8-3.

The Eagles added three more runs in the seventh, the last two on Thomas' single to center, and Marchese handed an 11-3 lead to the bullpen.

Marchese allowed only four hits over seven innings. Only one of the three runs he allowed was earned.

Hunter Tinsley allowed three runs in the eight, including Jaylen Smith's two-run homer, but he avoided further damage and Malik Barrington pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to give Tallahassee the series victory – and a 9-10 record heading to Tuesday's doubleheader at Thomas (Ga.) University.

Following the final out and the traditional handshake between teams, McLeod gave a tip of the hat to the Eagle Field crowd, then was greeted with boisterous applause from his team as he approached for the postgame meeting.

Tallahassee managed only seven hits on Sunday but took advantage of eight walks, two hit batsmen and three passed balls.

Cole Vann was 2-for-2 with three runs scored. Jack Hartman was 2-for-3. Thomas was 1-for-4 with a run scored and two driven in.
