#TCCBaseball takes Pensacola State, 7-3

PENSACOLA, Fla. (April 17, 2017) – Tallahassee Community College knocked off Pensacola State College, 7-3, on Monday evening in Panhandle Conference baseball action.

Faced with a must-win proposition, Tallahassee (25-22, 10-11 PC) responded to keep pace with second place Northwest Florida State College (11-8 PC pending Monday's outcome vs. Chipola College) in the league standings and move one-half game ahead of idle Gulf Coast State College (9-11) for sole possession of third.

The Eagles, who have three games remaining, are battling Northwest Florida State and Gulf Coast State for the conference's No. 2 seed and automatic berth in the NJCAA District/FCSAA State Tournament and the PC's Wild Card, awarded to the third-place finisher.

Alex Stobert got the start on Monday and went 4.1 innings, allowing one earned run while striking out five.

Derick Garcia (4-1) pitched the final 4.2 innings to notch the win.

Offensively, the Eagles got two hits each from Jordan Curtis, Tanner Thomas and Tucker Rayburn. All three players went 2-for-5.

Thomas drove in three runs.

Tallahassee and Pensacola State will finish their season series at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Eagle Field.
