#TCCBaseball drops two to Chipola

MARIANNA, Fla. (March 9, 2019) – Tallahassee Community College dropped both games of a Panhandle Conference baseball doubleheader to Chipola College on Saturday.

The Eagles lost by the scores of 2-0 and 3-2 to fall to 15-11 on the season (0-3 PC).

In game one, Chase Forester (2-1) pitched a complete game but was the tough-luck loser in the Indians' 2-0 victory. Forester allowed only six hits and didn't walk a batter but the Indians pushed a run across in their first at-bat and another in the bottom of the sixth, which proved to be the difference.

Tallahassee struck out 13 times and managed only one hit, a third-inning bunt single by Alex Ray. Still, the Eagles had an opportunity in the seventh.

A pair of walks put the tying runs on base but Cameron Wright grounded out to the pitcher to end the game.

In game two, Chipola scored single runs in each of its last three at-bats to steal a 3-2 victory.

Tallahassee went to work in the top of the first, jumping out to a 2-0 lead. The Eagles had four hits in the inning, including run-scoring singles by Logan Lacey and Ridge Abinsay

Tallahassee still led 2-0 in the fourth before Chipola rallied. The Indians scored the go-ahead run in the sixth on a fielder's choice.

Tanner Martin (1-2) took the loss for the Eagles.

Trent Jeffcoat, Taylor Lomack and Lacey had two hits each.

Tallahassee will try to avoid the series sweep when the teams meet at Eagle Field at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
