Stepping Stones: Tyler Lehrmann, South Alabama

This is the second installment in TCC Athletics' 2019 Stepping Stones series

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (July 16, 2019)— Tallahassee Community College baseball standout Tyler Lehrmann has signed a national letter of intent with the University of South Alabama.

Lehrmann, who is a Tallahassee native and graduate of Leon High School, pitched for two seasons at TCC under head coach Mike McLeod. He began his collegiate career as a walk-on, eventually earned a scholarship and, in the process, emerged as, arguably the team's top hurler as a sophomore.

"To go from a walk-on to a Division I scholarship is pretty awesome and I'm excited to go (to South Alabama)," said Lehrmann.

The 5-foot-11 left hander had a strong sophomore season for the Eagles. He led the team in wins (7-5), saves (3), strikeouts (66) and innings pitched (60.1) while finishing with an ERA of 3.28 in 22 appearances.

Lehrmann was named to the All-Panhandle Conference First-team in 2019. He also earned all-academic honors from both the Panhandle Conference and FCSAA in 2018 and 2019.

Located in Mobile, Ala., the NCAA Division I Jaguars compete in the Sun Belt Conference.
