Bio

Corey Pye is entering his seventh year as an assistant coach at Tallahassee Community College. Pye officially joined the Eagles' program August 1, 2015, and also serves as recruiting coordinator. On-the-field, Pye works with the team's pitchers and infielders while off-the-field responsibilties include monitoring the baseball student-athletes in athletic housing. 

Prior to coming to Tallahassee, Pye enjoyed a four-year stint (2011-15) as assistant coach at South Georgia State College in Douglas, Ga. There, he served as recruiting coordinator and pitching coach and filled the first base coach's box on game days. 

Pye helped guide South Georgia State to a postseason berth during each year of his tenure at the school, as well as a No. 22 national ranking in 2015. 

In addition to his work with the baseball team, Pye served as South Georgia State's head cross country coach, where he oversaw all facets of the program, including budgeting, travel, recruiting, practice and meets. During his time as head coach, five runners earned Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) all-conference runners. 

Pye's lone remaining coaching stop came as an assistant coach at Brewton-Paker College during the 2010-11 season. He was a dugout coach for a team who earned a number four national ranking and qualified for the 2011 NAIA National Baseball Tournament. 

Pye began his collegiate career as a pitcher at South Georgia State where helped the team to the GCAA Final Four in 2006 and set a school-record for appearances in 2007. He then transferred to Thomas University, where he played for the Night Hawks in 2009 and 2010 and earned a B.A. in interdisciplinary studies. 

To date, he has helped coach more than 50 student-athletes who have ever received scholarships or been selected in Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft. 

In addition to coaching, Pye has served as an associate scout for both the Texas Rangers and Los Angeles Dodgers.
