TCC basketball alums set to tip off 2012-13 season

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 9, 2012) – As many as 14 former Tallahassee Community College basketball players will dot rosters at four-year schools this upcoming season, and when the 2012-13 campaign tips off, you'll find former Eagles playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Big South Conference, Conference USA, Horizon League, Mid-South Conference (NAIA), Southwestern Athletic Conference and Sun Belt Conference.

Due to the proliferation in broadcast capabilities, many games featuring Tallahassee alumni can also be found on television networks from coast to coast.

The 2012-13 basketball season will also feature a trio of head-to-head matchups between former Eagles. On January 19, 2013, Christian Farmer and the Winthrop Eagles will pay a visit to Leek Leek and the Campbell Camels, in a game slated to air on ESPN3. Farmer and Leek helped lead Tallahassee to the 2011 NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA Championship and a berth in the NJCAA Tournament Quarterfinals.

And, although they were never teammates at Tallahassee, Juevol Myles (South Dakota) and Derick Beltran (Southern) will square off November 14 at the Global Sports Showcase in Laramie, Wyo. The same can be said for women's players Mansa El (South Alabama) and Diamond Ashmore (Florida International), who will meet up in Sun Belt Conference matchups on December 1, 2012, and January 27, 2013. Ashmore and the FIU Panthers will also pay a visit to Tallahassee to play Florida A&M on January 2, 2013.

Broadcast plans are subject to change.
