TCC falls in closing seconds at Gulf Coast State

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (January 30, 2013) – Tallahassee Community College dropped a 73-72 decision at Gulf Coast State College on Wednesday evening in Panhandle Conference basketball action.

The loss dropped Tallahassee (12-10) to 0-6 in PC play for the first time in school history, although the Eagles had two shots in the final seconds to steal the win from the Commodores. 

Trevor McDade missed from 12 feet on the first attempt. Off the miss, Marlon Johnson saved the loose ball inbounds to Bernard Kline, whose shot was deflected and fell into the hands of a Commodore defender as the horn sounded.

Tallahassee led 28-26 at the half in a game that featured 12 ties and 23 lead changes.

Gulf Coast State's Jose Rodriguez scored the winning points when he hit a pair of free throws with 31 seconds remaining in the game.

C.J. Washington and Jonathan Hood led Tallahassee with 18 points each.

Tallahassee will travel to Northwest Florida State College on Saturday. Tip-off is at 8:30 p.m. eastern.
