TCC men host Tip-Off Classic November 8-9

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 6, 2013) – It's a week later than in past seasons but Tallahassee Community College's men's basketball team will host its annual Tip-Off Classic, Friday and Saturday, November 8-9 at the Bill Hebrock Eagledome. 

Traditionally, Tallahassee has opened the season on its home floor, however, when the Atlantic Coast Conference released its 2013 football schedule in the spring, Saturday, November 2 was the date for the Miami Hurricanes' visit to town for a matchup with the Florida State Seminoles. As a result, the Eagle men and women opted to open their respective seasons on the road. 

Back home, this year's two-day, four-team event will feature Tallahassee, fellow Region 8 foe Santa Fe College, and a pair of schools from Region 22 - Marion (Ala.) Military Institute and Faulkner State (Ala.) Community College  - in somewhat of a round-robin format. 

On Friday, the action begins at 6 p.m. when Santa Fe plays Faulkner State. Tallahassee will take the floor at 8 p.m. against Marion Military Institute. 

On Saturday, the 2 p.m. game will pit Santa Fe against Marion Military Institute followed by Tallahassee and Faulkner State at 4 p.m. 

General admission is $5 daily. TCC students, faculty and staff are admitted free with a valid TCC ID. 

Following the games both days, fans are invited to attend the Postgame Party with the Eagles served by Applebee's. This weekend's postgame party will take place at Applebee's located at 1400 Village Square Blvd., just north of I-10 on Thomasville Road. 

Fans who bring a game program to the store will receive 10% off any full-price menu item. Applebee's will also be offering half-price appetizers after 10 p.m. both days.
