Tallahassee men host annual Southeastern Jamboree

Tallahassee was victorious in all three games at the Southeastern Jamboree, defeating Palm Beach State College, Florida State College at Jacksonville and Polk State College.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 3, 2014) – Eighteen of the top NJCAA men's basketball teams in the Southeast will be in action at Tallahassee Community College on Saturday when the 2014 Southeastern Jamboree tips off at the Bill Hebrock Eagledome and Lifetime Sports Complex.

Saturday's event is also the first opportunity for fans to catch the 2014-15 Eagles in action, as they prepare for the October 31 season opener against Westchester (N.Y.) Community College.

The Southeastern Jamboree will feature 16 teams from Florida and one each from Georgia (Gordon State College) and Mississippi (East Mississippi Community College), all of whom will play in front of coaches representing a who's who of four-year schools nationwide. Each of the 18 teams will play three games, which consists of two 23-minutes halves with a running clock.  

Three games will be played simultaneously, starting on the hour, beginning at 10 a.m. when Tallahassee faces Palm Beach State College. Other 10 a.m. games include East Mississippi vs. Miami Dade College and Eastern Florida State College vs. Santa Fe College. 

Tallahassee's final two games will be played at 11 a.m. vs. Florida State College at Jacksonville and at 3 p.m. vs. Polk State College.

All three of Tallahassee's games will be played on the floor of the Bill Hebrock Eagledome.

The jamboree field also includes Panhandle Conference foes Chipola College, Northwest Florida State College, Gulf Coast State College and Pensacola State College, along with fellow Region 8 members College of Central Florida, Daytona State College, Hillsborough Community College, St. Petersburg College and State College of Florida.
