Eagles rise: Tallahassee climbs to No. 11 in NJCAA poll
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (December 9, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College climbed three spots to No. 11 in the new NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Poll, released on Tuesday.
The Eagles improved to 11-1 with wins over Faulkner (Ala.) State Community College and TAAG (Fla.) Academy at last weekend’s Applebee’s Men’s Basketball Classic.
Two other schools from Region 8 join Tallahassee in this week’s rankings – No. 3 Northwest Florida State College, who received a pair of first-place votes, and poll newcomer Eastern Florida State College, ranked 24th.
Those three teams, in the same order, hold down the top three spots in this week’s FCSAA Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Poll.
Tallahassee and Eastern Florida State will square off in Ocala, Fla., at 4 p.m. Sunday during the annual Florida College’s Men’s Basketball Shootout.
The NJCAA Women’s Basketball Poll will be released Wednesday.
