#TCCBasketball’s Tim Dal Bon signs with Valdosta State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (July 20, 2016) – Tallahassee Community College men’s basketball standout Tim Dal Bon has signed a national letter of intent with Valdosta State University.

Dal Bon, a native of Cape Coral, Fla., transferred to Tallahassee prior to the 2015-16 season and promptly helped the Eagles advance to the NJCAA Region 8/FCSAA State Championship Game in head coach Mark White’s first season.

“I chose Valdosta State because they have established a culture of winning in one of the nation’s toughest conferences,” said Dal Bon. “Everyone – the coaching staff, players and community – is very genuine and family-oriented.”

After completing his prep career at Island Coast High School in 2013, Dal Bon signed with Williston (N.D.) State Community College but did not play and transferred to Colorado Northwestern Community College the following year. He played in 31 games at Colorado Northwestern during the 2014-15 season and averaged 7.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists.

The 5-foot-9 guard returned to his home state last summer, enrolled at Tallahassee and, though injuries limited him to just 21 games, averaged 4.0 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists while knocking down 19-of-71 shots from long distance.

“Tim is one of the toughest young men I’ve ever coached,” said White. “He came to work every day. Offensively, he can really stretch the defense with his shot-making ability.”

Dal Bon, who aspires to follow White’s footsteps into the coaching profession, left a lasting impression on the Eagles’ head coach.

“He has a bright future in coaching,” White added.

Valdosta State, an NCAA Division II school located in Valdosta, Ga., competes in the Gulf South Conference.
