#TCCBasketball: Eagles roll to best start since 2000-01

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (December 9, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College's men's basketball completed an undefeated weekend at the Florida College's Men's Basketball Shootout on Sunday, defeating Florida State College-Jacksonville, 87-52.

NJCAA No. 12/Region 8 No. 3 Tallahassee is now 14-0 for the first time since the 2000-01 season and it's the Eagles' first 14-game winning streak since the 2006-07 season.

Despite playing less than 24 hours after Saturday's emotional win over Daytona State College, Tallahassee delivered another solid effort, particularly on the defensive end, where it limited the Blue Wave to just 31.5 percent (17-of-54) shooting for the game.

The Eagles led 38-25 at the half and slowly pulled away in the second stanza. The lead was 67-39 with 11 minutes left, and Tallahassee put cruised home from there.

For the second straight day, Jalen Dalcourt scored in double-figures off the bench for Tallahassee. Today, he led the team with 20 points.

Deven Palmer hit five three-pointers on his way to an 18-point effort. Richard Washington recorded a double-double, 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Tallahassee returns home as the lone remaining unbeaten in Region 8 and will put its unblemished record on the line at 6 p.m. Monday when it hosts Advance Prep Academy. The game was added to the schedule to replace the November 6 game with Daytona State College that was declared a no contest.
