Stepping Stones: Mustafa Lawrence, Fresno State

TALLAHASSEE FLA. (July 22, 2019)—Tallahassee Community College men's basketball standout Mustafa Lawrence has signed a national letter of intent with Fresno State University.

Lawrence, who is from Newark, N.J., transferred to TCC after playing his freshman season at Missouri State University during the 2017-18 season.

The six-foot guard averaged 13.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 29 games with the Eagles in 2018-19. Lawrence scored a career-high 23 points on three occasions and hit the 20-point mark six different times.

Lawrence earned a spot on the All-Panhandle Conference First-team and received academic honors from both the FCSAA and Panhandle Conference in 2019.

Located in Fresno, Calif., the NCAA Division I Bulldogs compete in the Mountain West Conference. There, he will run into a familiar face as Eagle teammate Richard Washington is headed to San Jose State University, another member of the MWC.
