Eagle men dominate Southern Crescent at Courtyard Classic

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (November 22, 2019) – Tallahassee Community College's men's basketball team improved to 7-0 with a 90-53 win over Southern Crescent (Ga.) Technical College in Friday action at the Courtyard Tallahassee Downtown/Capitol Classic.

It was Tallahassee's fourth win by at least 38 points.

Friday's outcome was never really in doubt, though it did take the Eagles the better part of the first half to finally assert themselves.

Leading just 20-15 with 6:08 left until the half, Tallahassee scored nine unanswered points and eventually led 39-21 at the half.

The Eagles knocked down 55.6 percent (20-of-36) of its second-half field goal attempts to cruise to victory.

Daivon Stephens came off the bench to score a team-high 15 points for Tallahassee, keying a 46-21 scoring advantage amongst the reserves.

Tariq Silver added 14 points while DeAndre Gholston had 13 and Rifen Miguel, 11.

Tallahassee will close the Courtyard Classic with Saturday's 4 p.m. tilt against Georgia Highlands College, who dropped Friday's first game to Eastern Florida State College, 75-58.

Eastern Florida State and Southern Crescent will square off at 2 p.m. Saturday.
