Bio

Ben Mandelbaum is in his second season on the Eagles' staff and is the top assisant for head coach Zach Settembre. He will be involved in all aspects of the Eagles' program.

Mandelbaum joins the Eagles following a two-year stint as a graduate assistant at the University of Alabama-Birmingham (2016-18), where he earned a master's degree in exercise physiology. Working under head coach Rob Ehsan, Mandelbaum coordinated video exchange for the Blazers while administering film breakdown for the coaching staff. He also organized the Ehsan Academy Day Camp for boosters and donors and was the Rob Ehsan Basketball Camp Commissioner.

In addition to UAB, Mandelbaum has worked summer camps at the University of Minnesota, University of Arkansas and University of Pittsburgh.

Mandelbaum earned a bachelor's in psychology from Minnesota in 2015 and, while there, was head student manager for head coach Richard Pitino's Golden Gophers in 2014-15. In addition to overseeing all student managers, Mandelbaum provided analysis for film study, and conducted on-court player drills and individual workouts, a skill he continued to develop at UAB and will be very active in at Tallahassee.

After graduating from Minnesota, Mandelbaum landed his first coaching opportunity at Stillwater Area High School in Park Heights, Minn., where he was head freshman coach in 2015-16. He also provided scouting reports and oversaw video preparations for the school's varsity squad, which competed in the largest classification of Minnesota High School Basketball.
