#TCCXCTF concludes Maclay Open Series

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 27, 2019) – The third and final installment of the Maclay Open Series was held Wednesday afternoon and six of the Eagles' track participants used it as a final tune-up for this weekend's Alice Coachman Invitational, hosted by Albany State University.

The 400m run garnered the most attention and the men's race delivered a photo finish with Khalil Randell nudging out teammate Jovanny Valdez by four-thousandths of a second. Randell finished in a personal-best 52.974 while Valdez ran a 52.978.

Gannon Hundley was next in 54.46 and Antonio Williams, making his season debut, clocked a 1:06.38.

Njaree Collins was one of only two participants in the women's portion of the event and ran a 1:07.82.

Wednesday also provided another piece of history for the first-year program.

Mia Wiederkehr and Hundley entered the Eagles' first-ever field events, establishing a pair of school records.

Hundley participated in the pole vault, clearing a height of 2.45 meters.

Wiederkehr, meanwhile, entered the discus throw and recorded a toss of 19.31 meters on her second attempt.
