#TCCXC: Runners return from hiatus at TCC Eagle Invite

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (October 20, 2018) – Tallahassee Community College finally got its opportunity to run at Apalachee Regional Park on Saturday by hosting the TCC Eagle Invite.

Saturday marked the Eagles' first team race since the UNF XC Invitational on September 7 and comes just six days before an even bigger event, also on their home course – the FCSAA/NJCAA Region 8 Championships.

With only four runners active on Saturday, the Eagle women did not qualify for team scoring but the quartet who crossed the finish line posted solid times, including a pair of PRs.

Freshman Genevieve Printiss finished fourth overall with a personal-best time of 21:27.70.

Dorcas Jepleting, Mia Wiederkehr and Kendall Ward finished sixth through eighth, respectively. Jepleting ran a personal-best 21:41.50 while Wiederkehr's time of 21:51.10 was a season-best.

Ward finished the 5K race in 21:56.80.

Meanwhile, the Tallahassee men picked up a rather convincing team victory over a pair of club teams from Florida State – the Seminole Striders and The Running Club at FSU.

While there were no PRs on the day, all six runners placed inside the top nine, led by Jesse Boyd who won the men's 5K in a time of 18:09.50.

Fourth through sixth belonged to the Eagles led by Gannon Hundley, who finished in 18:38.30. Simon Hodgson was next with a time of 18:47.50 followed by Gio Duran (18:51.10).

Dalton Gray (19:07.80) finished eighth and Andrew McMillan, ninth (19:22.50).

Friday's region championship race begins at 8 a.m. with the men's 8K followed by the women's 5K at 9 a.m.
