TCC Softball drops three at Triple Crown College Classic

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (February 2, 2013) - FCSAA No. 2 Tallahassee Community College went winless on its first day of competition at the Triple Crown College Classic, dropping games to Brevard Community College, Florida State College at Jacksonville and Hillsborough Community College.

In the opener against Brevard, Alexis Huss, Marina Cobbs and Krista Garcia each had two hits but it wasn't enough in the 6-5 loss.

Huss went 2-for-4 with a homerun and three RBIs while Cobbs was 2-for-3 and scored a run. Garcia was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs driven in.

Krysta Hoani took the loss in the circle for Tallahassee.

In game two, Ashley Dobson pitched a three-hitter but came up on the short end in the Eagles' 4-2 loss to Florida State College at Jacksonville. Only one of Dobson's runs allowed was earned.

Brenda Santana and Ashley Heath-Smith both went 1-for-3.

In the Eagles' final game of the day, Hillsborough picked up a 3-1 win over Tallahassee.

Hoani was the tough-luck loser, allowing only three hits and one earned run.

Tallahassee will continue play at the Triple Crown College Classic on Sunday with two more games. The Eagles will play Palm Beach State College at 11 a.m. and Indian River State College at 1:15 p.m.
