Alumni Update: Alanna Leasau, Softball

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 21, 2013) - Former Tallahassee Community College softball standout Alanna Leasau (TCC 2011-12) slammed her way into the University of Texas-El Paso's record books during the Miners' game against Mississippi Valley State on March 15.

The game was played at Jackson State University in Jackson, Miss., as part of the JSU Tournament.

In UTEP's 12-9 win over the Delta Devils, Leasau became the first player in school history to hit two grand slams in a game, the second coming in walk-off fashion to give the Miners the victory.

She also established another UTEP single-game mark with eight RBI, eclipsing the previous record of seven held by Stacie Townsend and Simone Holland.

Leasau finished the game 2-for-3 and scored three runs.

Leasau played at Tallahassee in 2011-12. As a freshman, she was a member of the Eagles' 2011 squad that finished third in the national tournament.
