TCC soars into NJCAA softball poll

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 19, 2014) – Tallahassee Community College has cracked the NJCAA Division I Softball Top 20 Poll, earning a No. 11 ranking on Wednesday. 

The Eagles, 20-7 on the year and off to their first 4-0 Panhandle Conference start in 14 seasons, claimed its national ranking after being unranked in last week's poll. Tallahassee garnered a No. 3 ranking in this week's FCSAA Softball Coaches' Poll, released on Tuesday. 

Tallahassee is one of four teams from Region 8 in the Top 20 – Indian River State College is No. 2; the College of Central Florida, No. 6; and Polk State College, No. 15. 

The Eagles will continue PC play when they host Chipola College on Friday afternoon. Game one of the doubleheader begins at 4 p.m. at the TCC Softball Complex.
